We recently assisted a client (Canadian Citizen) with his Spousal Sponsorship Appeal for his wife (Indian Nationality). The client had submitted an application for permanent resident status based on a spousal sponsorship without legal representation. His case faced challenges as the information provided with the application was not clear enough. The Sponsor was in a common law relationship for many years before meeting his new wife. Concerns were raised by the visa officer as to the genuineness of the marriage. Their application was ultimately refused.

Our office was retained to assist with the appeal. We met with the client in person and his wife (via Skype) on a few occasions to prepare them for the hearing.  We submitted a comprehensive record of documents to support their testimonies.  After the couple’s testimonies, the Minister’s Counsel agreed with our position and our client won the appeal.

We are very pleased that this couple are now happily reunited in Canada.
